Weight Loss

Have you attempted to lose weight before, and faced one or more of these challenges?

  • Not knowing where to start, how to start meal planning, or what meal or snack ideas to try
  • Overwhelmed by the perceived time commitment
  • Wavering motivation, especially after plateauing or not seeing results
  • Difficulty overcoming ‘non-hungry eating’ due to boredom, emotions, stress or fatigue
  • Over restricting, and then binging on certain foods
  • Feeling socially isolated and restricted to eating at home
  • Temptation to slip back into old habits

If yes, you are not alone. Let us help you overcome them.

Remember, you are UNIQUE, so what works for someone else may not work for you. We use a number of different strategies and approaches to support weight loss, and can tailor each approach to suit your goals, lifestyle, food skills and preferences. Some of these approaches include:

Diabetes:

Diabetes is a condition whereby there is too much sugar in the blood. This can occur as a result of either insufficient or absent insulin production, and/or insulin resistance. Your food choices can help manage blood sugar levels, and in some cases, reverse the disease processes.

We see people with ‘pre-diabetes’, type 1 Diabetes, type 2 diabetes or gestational diabetes

We can assist you with:

  • Understanding blood sugar levels and insulin dosage, in relation to food choices
  • Understanding the role of carbohydrates, including the glycaemic index, portion control, and carbohydrate counting
  • Weight management (if necessary)
  • Exercise and blood sugar control
  • Eating well during pregnancy

Skin Health:

There is a strong body of evidence linking nutrition with the health and appearance of your skin. Furthermore, your food choices can support the prevention and/or management of certain clinical skin conditions.

We can assist you with the following:

  • Dermatitis herpetiformis, or eczema/urticaria associated with food allergies or intolerances
  • Acne management
  • Inflammatory skin conditions, including psoriasis
  • General skin health and anti-aging
